Confide in Crayons (Vocal Performance by Alicia Sanchez and Laticia Smith)

I wanted to capture the essence and excitement of childhood so I went directly to the source: the playground I spent hundred of hours bugging out during recess.
Hours of my time growing up were consumed making art and music. During that time I always felt really honest with myself, able to completely express both the wonderfully beautiful and fantastically tragic ideas and emotions that blazed through my little dirty-blonde head.
I wrote the lyrics at night during an orgasm of lyrical creativity. Originally I sang a five-part harmony but my vocals were weak so I decided the scrap the idea of the lyrics appearing on the track. While during the stages of mixing the album, I became set on getting those lyrics back on the track. However, if I couldn’t get the vocals in time I was going to scrap it, and it looked like it was going that way. By fate or sheer luck, I ran into Alicia Sanchez and Laticia Smith, two amazing singers who were studying at Queensborough Community College. After talking about finishing my album, and my problems finding vocals, they offered to sing on “Confide.” Within half an hour, they were finished rockin’ the vocals and we headed back to class.
